What Choice Do I Have? Pandemic Information
December 31, 2020 was not just the anticipation of the first day of a New Year. It was the first release of information from China publishing reports of an atypical pneumonia in the Wuhan province. This is the dateline for the official world statement. Those reading this most likely find this very old “news”.
I see it rather as the sound of a starter gun for a race that most health care providers recognized as, at best, a long marathon. While the public looked to a quick correction from science, the grind of the realities of a world wide spread started to be a minute by minute news item.
My perspective is that viral disease management is, always has been and will continue to be, an endless relay race. There will be no final hand off where the runner breaks the tape across the finish line and wins a prize for the team. The relay race “team” in this analogy is all humans. The race, of course, is the human race. Are we becoming, a viral infused race? That means permanently higher with our viral titer than previously. It’s an important question to answer as the direction of the solution is resting on the evidence of how long these particular virus can mutate ( keep showing up on an increase).
Epidemiolgy, the spread of disease, is not my specialty. My specialty is collating vast amounts of information, recognizing patterns and finding the best solution for the symptoms. My approach throws a broad net leading from the smallest factoid of human biology to the political impact of world leaders on the psychic body of those who look to them for guidance.
For example, I know you would have compassion for the person who sent me this painful mandate. She is Catholic, devout and deeply concerned with being aligned with her faith. The article related that in the US, some Catholic bishops are discouraging people from getting the latest single-shot vaccine from Johnson & Johnson when alternatives are available because it contains lab-grown cells that descend from cells taken in the 1980s from the tissue of aborted fetuses. She had already vaccinated with J&J and was despairing. Now this situation may seem ho-hum to non-Catholics or even those whose view of their God did not include bishops! Think instead what is a belief that you carry that will be a deal breaker for you. Who is your God and what is he/she giving you in terms of day to day choices?
The point is that every single one of us since 12/31/20 has been, and continue to be challenged making decision where the clear choice is not clear. Add the “life saving” or death alternative for ourselves and loved ones and it is a Jenga tower of choice.
What can I add to the narrative? As a medical intuitive who also supports Eastern and Western medicine, I have access to many sources of information on every side of the perceived arguments. I have no political affiliation, bias or stock in pharmaceuticals. I am amazingly absent of believing I know “the best” for every single soul.
